We're so glad you've chosen us. Below outlines your next steps in the enrollment process. There are important tasks for you to complete before classes begin. For any questions, please contact the One Stop Center at (585) 785-1000.
Activate Your FLCC Accounts
MyFLCC Student Portal
MyFLCC is a secure student portal used to complete important tasks and receive essential information. To gain access:
- Find your FLCC username located on your acceptance letter.
- Submit the Account Activation Form to set up your account.
FLCC Student Email
Check your FLCC student email regularly to receive messages from the College, such as important updates, academic and registration deadlines, and messages from faculty and staff.
- Your email address is your FLCC username + @fingerlakes.edu.
- Use your FLCC password to log in.
Complete Your Personalized To-Do List
Once you log in to your MyFLCC account, you'll find a personalized To-Do list to make the enrollment process easier. Some tasks may not apply to you. Some tasks you may have completed already. Either way, take the time to review the list below:
High School or College
FLCC needs your high school and/or college transcripts to advise on course registration and matriculate you into your degree program. Final, official transcripts showing date of graduation are required prior to the start of classes.
Students must request a copy directly from the high school and/or college(s) attended. Please check your school's website for transcript request instructions. The high school and/or college(s) should issue the official transcript to FLCC by:
- Electronic submission: admissions@flcc.edu by an online service (i.e. eScript or Parchment)
- Fax: (585) 785-1734 (high school documents only)
- Mail: Office of Admissions, Finger Lakes Community College, 3325 Marvin Sands Drive, Canandaigua, NY 14424
GED/TASC
Students may submit their scores by mail, email, or fax. The Admissions Office will verify passing status through the NYS GED verification website once the official score is published.
Home School
FLCC has a home school verification form to be completed by the superintendent of the school district. The student or school district may return it to the FLCC Admissions Office. Forms are available upon request. Please email the admissions office at admissions@flcc.edu. If your school offers a letter of verification, the school district should mail it directly to FLCC.Your First Advising Appointment
All new students must meet with an academic advisor to create their first semester class schedule. You can choose a one-on-one phone appointment or attend a small group registration event at either our main campus or one of our campus centers. Sign up for New Student Registration as part of your MyFLCC To-Do list.
During New Student Registration we will:
- Confirm that your selected degree program meets your academic and career goals
- Review the sample schedule for your selected degree program
- Select the number of classes/credits you'll need for the first semester
- Create your first semester class schedule
- Examine prior credits from high school and/or other colleges and universities (when applicable)
Submit Your Intake Survey
For our advisors to better guide you through the registration process and to pair you with the best possible schedule, we encourage you to complete a brief intake survey. We'll ask you about your current plans, which course modalities you prefer, if you plan to work while in school, if you have any technology needs, etc.
Submit Your Federal and State Aid Forms
Filing your FAFSA is the most important step you can take to determine your eligibility for aid and secure money for college. All FLCC incoming students should complete the 2025-26 FAFSA as soon as possible.
- Request your FSA IDs for all financial contributors, and complete the 2025-26 FAFSA.
- Upon submission of your FAFSA, you will receive an email confirmation from Federal Student Aid. This does not mean FLCC has received your data yet.
- We anticipate sending out financial aid offers starting in January.
- Once we notify you that we've received your FAFSA, complete your TAP application to secure funding from New York State.

Review and Accept Your Aid
Once we can determine your aid eligibility, you can use the financial aid section of MyFLCC to:
- View and print your financial aid offer and financial plan
- Accept or decline your financial aid offer
- Access requested financial aid requirements

Submit Your Certificate of Residence – New York State Residents
A Certificate of Residence verifies you have been a New York State resident for one year prior to registering for classes and makes you eligible for in-state tuition.
You must obtain your certificate from your county of residence. Certificates are valid for one year from the date of issuance and are due to the college within 30 days of the start of classes.
Please e-mail a copy of your certificate to onestop@flcc.edu or return it to a campus center location.
New York State residents who do not submit a Certificate of Residence are charged an additional out-of-county tuition premium of $210.00 per credit hour.
View and Pay Your Bill
To view your FLCC bill and make a full or partial payment, visit MyFLCC and navigate to Student Finance. Additional information is available regarding payment options and how to make a payment.
Set Up Your Refund Preference
FLCC uses BankMobile when we need to issue you a refund due to excess financial aid funds. We encourage you to create an account and choose your refund preference with Bank Mobile.

Your Student Health Information
In order to attend in-person classes or participate in on-campus activities, you must submit proof of immunization against:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Meningococcal Meningitis (or complete a waiver form)
COVID-19 vaccinations are strongly encouraged for students, which is consistent with other viruses, including influenza and mpox.

Get Ready for Your First Day
Now that your registration and finances are taken care of, let's get you ready for your first day of class. Below are items to equip you with the tools, supplies, and technology you'll need to succeed academically and socially at FLCC.
New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation is an excellent opportunity to explore valuable FLCC resources, meet other students in your area of study, and give you a successful start to your first semester. Orientation consists of two components — online orientation to be completed on your own time, and in-person and online events to help you connect with the FLCC community.
In both cases, we'll prepare you for the first weeks of the semester, answer all your questions, and leave you confident to begin your journey as a Laker!
Use Brightspace to Access Course Information
Brightspace is FLCC's learning management system and serves as your primary tool for performing a number of activities related to your registered courses. You'll use your Brightspace account no matter if your course is delivered in-person, 100% online, hybrid, or HyFlex. You'll be able to:
- Access your course assignments and due dates
- Submit your homework and projects
- Message your instructors and classmates
- Receive important course-related alerts
- Track your course progress and grades
- Review course materials over again at your own pace
- Participate in class forums and discussions
- Work on collaborative projects with other students
A week before classes begin, log in to Brightspace to view your course syllabus and course assignments for all your registered courses. If you need assistance or you are unable to log in, contact the Help Desk at (585) 785-1419 or helpdesk@flcc.edu.
Get the App — Brightspace Pulse
Brightspace Pulse is a mobile app that can help you stay connected and on track with your courses. It provides an easy view of course calendars, readings, assignments, evaluations, grades, and announcement items. Real-time alerts let you know when classes are canceled, rooms are moved, or new grades are available.
Download the Brightspace Pulse app from Google Play or Apple App Store. After download, choose "SUNY" as your institution and use your FLCC username and password to log in.
Securing Course Materials
Just prior to the start of the semester, your textbooks and supplies will be available for review and purchase on The Book Nook's website. You'll be able to search by department, course, and section to locate the materials you need for each registered course.
Request Your Student ID
We offer two convenient ways to secure your FLCC ID card. You can upload your photo and submit a request online or request your ID in person at the One Stop Center.
The ID card serves as your student identification, which grants access to the library, fitness center, and The Suites at Laker Landing. Your ID card can also be used to purchase items in the bookstore, Café, and vending machines.
Personal Computers
All students should have access to a personal computer, given the increased use of online courses and web conferencing. In many cases, financial aid may be used to pay for computers at The Book Nook. Learn about minimum specifications for student laptops.
Laptop Computer Loans for Students
The FLCC IT Department has a limited number of laptop computers available to be loaned to students. Please complete a computer loan agreement form to submit a request. Contact the IT Helpdesk if you have any questions.
WiFi and Internet
You are welcome to go to an FLCC location and use our free College WiFi. Cafe seating, lounges, and study areas are available. FLCC also has WiFi in the main parking lot near the logging sports practice field. Students with internet access challenges at home can contact helpdesk@flcc.edu for assistance.
FLCC IT Services
The Helpdesk is available at (585) 785-1419 or helpdesk@flcc.edu to assist you with questions and technical support related to your computer accounts (i.e. student email, MyFLCC). If you don't get an immediate answer, please leave a message and the first available tech will call you back.
- Online Learning: For technical support with online courses, please contact the Open SUNY Helpdesk. To contact the FLCC Office of Online Learning, call (585) 785-1733 or use the employee directory to look up individual contact information.

Contact Housing for Help with Living Arrangements
Whether you're interested in The Suites at Laker Landing or are looking for an apartment off campus, the Office of Housing and Residence Life is here to help you finalize your housing options.
The Suites at Laker Landing offers apartment-style housing, featuring private bedrooms, a full kitchen, spacious lounges, and more. You'll be just a short walk from your classes and college activities. Contact Housing at (585) 785-1643 or housing@flcc.edu for help finding accommodations during your time as an FLCC student.
Purchase a Meal Plan and Laker Loot
While meal plans are not required, they can help you save money on food. Take advantage of the discounts offered with a meal plan. There are two types of meal plans:
- Buy a certain number of full meals for a set price.
- Declining Balance — load up your card with a determined amount (like a debit card). With this option you receive a discount and tax-free purchases.
If you're seeking additional flexibility, Laker Loot may be purchased in any amount and used like cash at the Café or in campus vending machines. Laker Loot provides savings on tax on all purchases.
Academic Support and Tutoring
College-level academics is very different from high school, and can be challenging for any student who's been away from the classroom for a while. At FLCC, you'll have access to a wide range of academic support services designed to help you succeed.
We offer tutoring and study centers for math, writing, and science, along with assistance in other subject areas. Our Academic Success and Access Programs also provide academic strategy appointments and online resources for developing academic habits, understanding college classroom expectations, and preparing for tests and final exams.
Disability Services works with individuals to create appropriate plans for reasonable academic adjustments, testing accommodations, and in-class enhancements needed to help qualifying students thrive.
Free On-Demand Healthcare
FLCC is excited to offer TimelyCare — a new telehealth program that provides 24/7 medical and mental health care from anywhere, and with no cost to enrolled students.
Get on-demand support from counselors, doctors, nurse practitioners, and more. Services include unlimited medical visits, TalkNow emotional support, psychiatry appointments (with referral), health/wellness coaching, and up to 12 appointments with a licensed counselor.
